2019 Lemayian Lunch Series
In 2017, we launched our first Lemayian (which means “blessed” in Swahili) trip to Kenya to increase awareness about the projects we support there through the foundation.
Now we are bringing the concept back home and offering a series of site visits to Seattle non-profits followed by lunch with the organization’s leadership. Please contact Philanthropic Advisor Molly Norton for more information or to RSVP. Spots are limited. Tours and lunches will be last approximately two hours.
Rainier Valley Food Bank fulfills its mission to “nourish with good food, empower with knowledge, and serve with compassion” by offering on-site food distribution, home delivery, to-go bags, and a backpack program for help troubleshooting life circumstances that contribute to a need for food. We will tour with the incredibly knowledgeable and dynamic Miguel Jimenez, and then head over to Nurturing Roots Farm, a community farming program that educates youth and the local community on healthy food choices, for a picnic lunch.
